the weather changing is making me do the following (and the positives of each!):
♥ cut my hair!
-saves $70 to do it myself!
- leaves it hacky and chunky the way i like for bobs!
- my shorty neck looks longer/have more room for HUGE EARRINGS/scarves.
- wacks at least 15 minutes off getting ready in the mornings (good for the chronically late. i.e. me).
♥ look for heavyheavy gauge tights that will fit my chunkles.
- no positives as i cant find any right now. i want cable knit in big sizes for a price that allows me to wear more than just the tights.
♥ renewing my chronic obsession with the robert+mary perfection.
- Fall time is Cure time, and Mary and her wacky lipliner and huge bows and their general craziness for each other make me happy. it makes me want to make pocket shrines of them so i can take them everywhere with me in my purse. and so other crazy girls can take them everywhere in their purse.
♥ cleaning out of craftiness!
- i have to get my room in order so i can make more stuff! cold weather and early darkness make me want to stay in and make things, so i need to get everything stacked up OUT. which means dodads i have been squirreling away for people (CUPPY) need to be sent. now i am looking for boxes at work to do this. i am supposed to be cleaning off my desk. oops.
... i was just thinking i should probably get my eyebrows spruced up... talking about "squirreling" made me think of squirrels and that made me think about my eyebrows that look like squirrel tails.

Pinocchio...
when i was little, i was obsessed with Pinocchio. we were a big Disney family, so my first Pinocchio was Disney Pinocchio. i had a plastic jointed doll that i loved to death, and broke to pieces, yet was always miraculously healed for a few years. i found out later that my mom and dad had a desperate plea to anyone going to Disneyland to bring back Pinocchio dolls so they could change out parts!
then, when i was about 4, i was given a beautiful Italian Pinocchio, that was more traditional. he was made out of wood, but i cuddled the hell out of him.
so Pinocchio has always been something my mom and i hold very close, because it reminds both of us of each other and enjoying it together.
now the weirdness is this: the first thing Severin really recognized, was Pinocchio! he became entranced by my mother's coffee cup with Pinocchio on it, and it has gone downhill ever since. he gets nuts about him. we bought him a tshirt and he carries it around the house for ages. when it first started we were in complete denial. "maybe he wants to drink out of a cup???" "do you think he wants to know the name of the object?" it was just so eerie. PINOCCHIO IS IN MY FAMILY'S GENES.
after my recent trip to Disneyland, and shopping for (now hard to find) Pinocchio merchandise for Severin, my total love of Pinocchio has been renewed. Disney, traditional, whatever. i am actually reading the Collodi story now, which is just brilliant.

late journal prompts!
Journal Prompt: Why I heart fall? What are the reasons behind your love for this season? Why is fall so amazing to you??
as i am way behind in posting these, i am going to just start here, 4 prompts in. as i said to Kitty, i am seriously insane about my drawing skills. i know i am not on the level of automatic writing or anything, but i also know that i am not a great artist. this is something i literally panic about when drawing something that is going to be seen by anyone other than my mom or Adi. this is also insane and i have to get over it.
so much of my love of autumn is due to Halloween and D.d.l.M. the first because its all about costumes and candy and kids feeling super crazy for a night. remember that feeling? it was dark, you were allowed to roam the streets dressed like your favourite thing, and then eat a bunch of sugar right before bed! you felt sort of dangerous and crazy, yet safe. Halloween has always been my favourite holiday, which is why i was married on it!
as for Dia de los Muertos... i think it is a beautiful custom and is, creatively, probably my biggest influence. i think the celebration of memory and life is something very positive and i trying to get behind it every year. this is the first year i will be able to really focus on honouring my Grandma during it (last year it was still too fresh and there was too much baby insanity).
i am really enjoying this class!!!

dudeins... so i am:
a) 3 days behind on my "I ♥ Fall" journal!!! which i am not stressing about as much as upset because i want to work on it. i did my #1 prompt last night, which was nice and fun and i loved it!
b) totally behind on responding to an email from my #1 lady Cuppy. oops. work is crazy because we are in the midst of opening for Fall. this is the part of fall i don't love.
c) a victim of credit card fraud! rad! nothing is more fun than getting a call at 8:00 a.m. as you are rushing to work (sans energy drink) from your credit card company checking to see if you spent $111.00 at FTD. well, probably not getting that call would be less fun.
d) working 9 days in a row!!! great! i dont need weekends. those are for sucks.
... i am actually in a fairly awesome mood.
